What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Ella Cafe's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, any proposed replacement Principal Executive must successfully complete the initial training program and any other training that Ella Cafe requires. This training must be completed and the replacement must be approved by Ella Cafe before the replacement assumes the position. The replacement must be in place no later than 90 days after the previous Principal Executive stopped serving in the position.
This requirement ensures that the person in charge of the Ella Cafe franchise has the knowledge and skills necessary to operate the business according to Ella Cafe's standards. The initial training program covers the fundamentals of running an Ella Cafe, while additional training may address specific areas needing improvement or new developments in the system.
The franchisee bears the responsibility of ensuring the replacement Principal Executive completes the required training within the specified timeframe. Failure to do so could result in a breach of the franchise agreement. The franchisee is also responsible for all costs and expenses associated with the training, including wages, travel, lodging, and dining costs for the replacement Principal Executive.
It is important for prospective Ella Cafe franchisees to understand these requirements and plan accordingly in case a replacement Principal Executive is needed. This includes budgeting for training costs and having a plan in place to identify and train a suitable replacement within the 90-day window.
