What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Ella Cafe's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the performance reports that franchisees submit to Ella Cafe must be signed by an authorized representative, who is attesting to the accuracy of the reports. These reports include the Coffee House's Gross Sales and other financial information that Ella Cafe may reasonably require. Franchisees must use the procedures, methods, and programs that Ella Cafe prescribes periodically and pay all related costs.

These reports are due on the date prescribed by Ella Cafe. Additionally, within 30 days following the end of each calendar quarter, franchisees must provide Ella Cafe with a copy of the Coffee House's profit and loss statements. These statements must be prepared according to generally accepted accounting principles and accurately reflect the Coffee House's financial information for the applicable Accounting Periods.

This requirement ensures that Ella Cafe has access to accurate and reliable financial data from each of its franchise locations. This data is crucial for monitoring the performance of individual franchises, as well as the overall health and growth of the Ella Cafe system. By requiring an authorized representative to sign the reports, Ella Cafe aims to ensure accountability and accuracy in the financial reporting process.

Prospective franchisees should understand that they will need to establish systems and procedures to collect and report this financial information accurately and on time. They should also be prepared to cover the costs associated with these reporting requirements, including any fees for accounting services or software. It is important to clarify with Ella Cafe who qualifies as an "authorized representative" and what specific information must be included in the performance reports.
