What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Ella Cafe's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Ella Cafe and its affiliates retain the right to engage in the production, distribution, licensing, and sale of any food, beverages, or other services and products under the Ella Cafe marks or other names through any method of distribution other than an Ella Cafe Coffee House.

This includes sales through vending machines, kiosks, food trucks, grocery stores, other food retailers, mail order catalogs, and the Internet. These alternative methods of distribution can occur regardless of their proximity to, or competitive impact on, coffee houses developed by the Developer in the Development Area.

For a prospective Ella Cafe developer, this means that Ella Cafe can explore various channels to sell its products, potentially increasing brand visibility and revenue streams beyond traditional coffee houses. However, it also means that the franchisee may face competition from these alternative channels, even within their designated development area. It is important for a prospective franchisee to understand how these alternative distribution methods might affect their business and to discuss any concerns with Ella Cafe before signing the agreement.
