What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Dryer Vent Squad FDD, if a franchisee dies or becomes permanently disabled and is an individual (not a corporation), their representative must appoint a manager who meets the requirements of an Operating Manager within 30 days. This appointed manager must then attend and successfully complete the Dryer Vent Squad Training Program within 60 days of their appointment.

For corporate entity franchisees, if the Managing Owner dies or becomes permanently disabled, the remaining owners have 30 days to appoint a new Managing Owner approved by Dryer Vent Squad. This new Managing Owner is also required to attend and successfully complete the Training Program within 60 days of their appointment.

If the Dryer Vent Squad business is not managed by an approved Operating Manager or Managing Owner within the specified timeframe, Dryer Vent Squad has the option, but not the obligation, to appoint a manager to oversee the business. This is done at the franchisee's expense until a qualified manager can take over. Even if Dryer Vent Squad appoints a manager, the franchisee remains responsible for all obligations under the Franchise Agreement.
