Pre-Opening Obligations

- Grant of Franchise We will grant to you the right to operate the Franchised Business within a designated operating territory. (Franchise Agreement, Article 2);

- Site Review and Approval of Operating Territory At the time of signing your Franchise Agreement you will have selected and we will have approved of the Operating Territory within which you will operate the Franchised Business. If you elect to lease a back-end administrative office and/or operations center, your administrative office and/or operations center must be located within your Operating Territory and be approved by us;

- Manuals We will provide you with access to our confidential and proprietary Manuals. You must operate the Franchised Business in accordance with the Manuals and all applicable laws, rules and regulations. At all times, we reserve the right to supplement, modify and update the Manuals. (Franchise Agreement, Article 4.C.). The operations manual as of the Issuance Date of this Disclosure Document currently consists of 195 pages and the table of contents to the operations manual is attached as Exhibit C to this Disclosure Document (Franchise Agreement, Article 4). Major subjects contained in the operations manual consist of establishing, developing, marketing and operating the Franchised Business;

- Approved Suppliers and Distributors We will provide you with a list of our approved suppliers and distributors, to the extent that we have designated them, either as part of the Manuals or otherwise in writing. (Franchise Agreement, Articles 3, 4, and 7.F.);

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Dryer Vent Squad Franchise Disclosure Document, Dryer Vent Squad grants the franchisee the right to operate a franchised business within a designated operating territory. At the time of signing the Franchise Agreement, the franchisee will have selected, and Dryer Vent Squad will have approved, the operating territory.
The franchisee must operate the Dryer Vent Squad business in accordance with the manuals and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Dryer Vent Squad retains the right to supplement, modify, and update the manuals. The operations manual currently consists of 195 pages as of the issuance date of the disclosure document, with major subjects including establishing, developing, marketing, and operating the franchised business.
If permitted by local law, the franchisee may manage the Dryer Vent Squad business from a home-based administrative office. If the franchisee elects to lease a back-end administrative office or operations center, it must be located within the operating territory and be approved by Dryer Vent Squad. The franchisee is responsible for selecting a site for the administrative office and must obtain Dryer Vent Squad's approval of the selected location.
The franchisee may not open the Dryer Vent Squad business until completing the initial training requirements, obtaining necessary licensing and authorization from state and regulatory agencies, and providing written proof of required insurance. Within 90 days of signing the Franchise Agreement, the franchisee must open and offer services and products to customers within the operating territory. Dryer Vent Squad estimates the time between signing the Franchise Agreement and opening the business to be one to three months, which may be affected by factors such as completing the initial training program, obtaining financing, securing licenses, training staff, and leasing a service vehicle.
