What This Means (2024 FDD)
The Dryer Vent Squad 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) outlines the franchisee's obligations upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement. Specifically, the franchisee must transfer or assign various digital assets as directed by Dryer Vent Squad. However, the FDD does not explicitly state who provides the specific instructions or methods for the destruction of digital files.
Upon termination, a Dryer Vent Squad franchisee is obligated to transfer the Business Management System, Business Management System Data, customer lists, customer information, and customer data to the franchisor. Additionally, the franchisee must transfer or disconnect telephone numbers, email addresses, and web-based media listings as directed by Dryer Vent Squad. The franchisee is also required to cancel any interests in these items as instructed by the franchisor.
While the FDD details the franchisee's responsibility to transfer or cancel digital assets, it does not specify who provides the exact instructions for destroying digital files. A prospective franchisee should seek clarification from Dryer Vent Squad regarding the procedures for digital file destruction to ensure compliance with the franchise agreement and to protect confidential information.
