Initial Training
If this is your first Dryer Vent Squad Business, we will provide initial training for you or, if you are a Corporate Entity, your Managing Owner, plus one designated manager. Either you or your Managing Owner, plus your general manager, must successfully complete the initial training program to our satisfaction no later than 28 days prior to the scheduled opening of your Dryer Vent Squad Business. The initial training program takes place over an approximate three day period. If more than two individuals attend initial training, you will be charged an additional fee per additional persons attending initial training. Although we provide you or, if you are a Corporate Entity, your Managing Owner, plus your general manager, with initial training at no additional fee or charge, you will be responsible for all travel expenses and employee wages related to your attendance and completion of training. (Franchise Agreement, Article 4). Currently, we provide our initial training program no less frequently than quarterly and on an as-needed basis.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Dryer Vent Squad FDD, initial training is provided to the franchisee (or Managing Owner if the franchisee is a corporation) and one designated manager. This initial training must be completed no later than 28 days before the scheduled opening of the Dryer Vent Squad Business and takes place over approximately three days. While Dryer Vent Squad does not charge an additional fee for this initial training for the franchisee/Managing Owner and one manager, the franchisee is responsible for all travel expenses and employee wages related to attending the training. The training program is held at the Dryer Vent Squad Business in Lakewood, New Jersey.
Dryer Vent Squad may also require that the franchisee and their Operating Manager participate in supplemental on-site training. If Dryer Vent Squad believes that the franchisee is not meeting System performance standards, they may provide supplemental training on-site within the Operating Territory. The franchisee is responsible for paying a supplemental training fee, which is currently $250 per on-site trainer per day, plus travel expenses, meals, and accommodation expenses incurred by Dryer Vent Squad.
If a franchisee needs to replace their Operating Manager, Dryer Vent Squad will offer initial training to the replacement Operating Manager, which must be completed to Dryer Vent Squad's satisfaction. The franchisee will be required to pay a supplemental training fee for the replacement Operating Manager, which is currently $500 per manager per day for each replacement manager attending the initial training. Instructional materials used in the initial training process include the Manuals, live instruction, and handouts, and initial training will be conducted under the direction and supervision of Dryer Vent Squad's CEO, Leo Goldberger. Some of the training may be done through Zoom programs.
