You, and if you are a partnership or Corporate Entity, each of your members, shareholders and/or partners (collectively, "Owners"), must personally guarantee all of your obligations to us under the Franchise Agreement. Each Owner must personally guarantee your obligations to us under the Franchise Agreement (Franchise Agreement, Articles 2 and 6 and Exhibit 1). You must also promise in writing that, among other things, during the term of the Franchise Agreement you will not participate in any business that in any way competes with a Dryer Vent Squad Business, and that for 24 months after the expiration of termination of the Franchise Agreement (with said period being tolled during any periods of non-compliance), you will not participate in any competitive business located within and/or servicing customers located within your Operating Territory and a 25 mile radius surrounding your Operating Territory. Further you will not participate in any competitive business located within and/or servicing customers located within the operating territory of any other Dryer Vent Squad Business. Your managers will be required by us to sign a confidentiality agreement. (Franchise Agreement, Articles 2.C., 4.A., 6 and 14.C.).

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Dryer Vent Squad's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, if you are a franchisee, you must personally guarantee all obligations to Dryer Vent Squad under the Franchise Agreement. If the franchisee is a partnership or corporate entity, each member, shareholder, and/or partner (collectively, "Owners") must also personally guarantee all of the obligations to Dryer Vent Squad under the Franchise Agreement.
This requirement means that the personal assets of the franchisee, its members, shareholders, and/or partners are at risk if the Dryer Vent Squad franchise fails to meet its financial or contractual obligations to the franchisor. This is a common practice in franchising, as it provides the franchisor with additional security and recourse in case of default.
Prospective Dryer Vent Squad franchisees should carefully consider the implications of this personal guarantee and ensure they fully understand the risks involved before signing the Franchise Agreement. It is advisable to consult with a legal and financial advisor to assess the potential impact on their personal assets and financial situation.
