What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Dryer Vent Squad's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Dryer Vent Squad does not have the option to purchase a franchisee's business. However, Dryer Vent Squad does have the right of first refusal to acquire a franchisee's business.
This means that if a Dryer Vent Squad franchisee receives an offer from a third party to purchase their business, the franchisee must first offer Dryer Vent Squad the opportunity to match the terms of the offer. Dryer Vent Squad can then decide whether or not to purchase the franchise business on those terms.
This right of first refusal allows Dryer Vent Squad to maintain control over who enters the Dryer Vent Squad system and prevents unwanted parties from acquiring a franchise. It is a fairly common clause in franchise agreements.
