Answer from 2024 FDD Document

We license a system (the "System") for the operation of a Dryer Vent Squad business (each, a "Franchised Business" or "Dryer Vent Squad Business") that provides cleaning, repair and maintenance services for dryer vents, kitchen and bathroom vents, and related services and products (the "Approved Services and Products") using our programs, products, supplies, warranties, equipment, authorized service vehicle, and materials that we designate (the "System Supplies"). The System is identified by Dryer Vent Squad registered trademark, registered logo, and such other trademarks, logos, and trade-dress that we may designate, modify or adopt from time to time and as same may or may not be registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (collectively, the "Licensed Marks").

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Dryer Vent Squad Franchise Disclosure Document, the 'Licensed Marks' are how the Dryer Vent Squad System is identified. These marks include the Dryer Vent Squad registered trademark, registered logo, and other trademarks, logos, and trade dress that the company may designate, modify, or adopt over time. These marks may or may not be registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The FDD emphasizes that the Dryer Vent Squad System is characterized by the prominent display of these Licensed Marks. As a franchisee, you are required to use these marks in the operation of your business to maintain brand consistency and recognition. The franchisor retains the right to modify these marks, so franchisees must stay updated with any changes to ensure compliance.

This means that as a Dryer Vent Squad franchisee, you're not just buying a business model but also the right to use the established brand identity. The use of registered trademarks and logos helps to create a consistent brand image, which can be a significant advantage in a competitive market. However, it also means that you are obligated to adhere to the franchisor's guidelines regarding the use of these marks, and any unauthorized use could result in legal or contractual repercussions.
