We license a system (the "System") for the operation of a Dryer Vent Squad business (each, a "Franchised Business" or "Dryer Vent Squad Business") that provides cleaning, repair and maintenance services for dryer vents, kitchen and bathroom vents, and related services and products (the "Approved Services and Products") using our programs, products, supplies, warranties, equipment, authorized service vehicle, and materials that we designate (the "System Supplies"). The System is identified by Dryer Vent Squad registered trademark, registered logo, and such other trademarks, logos, and trade-dress that we may designate, modify or adopt from time to time and as same may or may not be registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (collectively, the "Licensed Marks").

The System features the prominent display of the Licensed Marks, the Approved Services and Products, and the System Supplies as they all presently exist and as we may modify, add to or discontinue from time to time.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Dryer Vent Squad's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to purchase System Supplies from specific sources. System Supplies are defined as the programs, products, supplies, warranties, equipment, authorized service vehicle, and materials that Dryer Vent Squad designates for use in the business.

The FDD states that franchisees may only offer and sell approved services and products using System Supplies purchased through Dryer Vent Squad, its affiliates, or its designated approved suppliers. This requirement ensures consistency and quality control across all Dryer Vent Squad franchises.

This purchasing restriction is a common practice in franchising, allowing the franchisor to maintain brand standards and potentially benefit from negotiated pricing with suppliers. However, it also limits the franchisee's ability to shop for the best prices or use alternative products, which could impact their operating costs and profitability. Prospective franchisees should carefully evaluate the approved supplier list and pricing to understand the potential financial implications.
