What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Dryer Vent Squad's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees have several obligations to protect confidential information, including the operations manual. Franchisees must not make unauthorized copies of documents containing confidential information. They must also take reasonable steps that Dryer Vent Squad may request to prevent unauthorized use or disclosure of this information. These obligations extend both during the term of the Franchise Agreement and after its expiration or termination.

These restrictions also apply to the franchisee's Owners, who must sign a Franchise Owner Agreement and Individual Guaranty. Furthermore, the franchisee's directors, officers, employees, and agents who have access to confidential information must also sign a Confidentiality Agreement. This ensures that anyone with access to sensitive information is legally bound to protect it.

In practical terms, a Dryer Vent Squad franchisee must implement and enforce strict policies regarding access to and use of the operations manual and other confidential documents. This includes physical security measures to protect printed materials and digital security measures to protect electronic files. Franchisees should also provide training to their employees on the importance of confidentiality and the proper handling of sensitive information. By taking these steps, franchisees can minimize the risk of unauthorized disclosure and protect the Dryer Vent Squad system.
