What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Dryer Vent Squad FDD, the Business Management System refers to the software, internet, web-based, and/or cloud-based system or systems. It also includes point of sale and customer relationship management systems. Dryer Vent Squad determines, in its reasonable business judgment, what systems are required for the franchise. These systems can be individually or collectively designated. The Business Management System is required for use by the Franchised Business, including the day-to-day sales, ordering, operations, and management.
Dryer Vent Squad reserves the right to modify and designate alternative Business Management Systems as it determines necessary in its reasonable business judgment. The franchisor has direct live access and storage-based access to the Business Management System for the Franchised Business and to the Franchisee's Business Management System Data.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that Dryer Vent Squad has significant control over the technology and systems used to run the business. The franchisee must use the systems that Dryer Vent Squad designates and may be required to switch to alternative systems in the future. The franchisee should be prepared for ongoing technology expenses and the possibility of needing to adapt to new systems. The franchisor's access to the franchisee's data also raises privacy and data security considerations.
