What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Dryer Vent Squad's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Washington State Franchise Investment Protection Act, Chapter 19.100 RCW, will prevail if there is a conflict of laws. This means that the provisions of this Act will take precedence over any conflicting terms in the franchise agreement. This protection is specifically for franchisees operating in Washington state.
Additionally, RCW 19.100.180 may supersede the franchise agreement in areas such as termination and renewal. Court decisions may also override the franchise agreement in these areas. This indicates that the legal framework in Washington provides specific protections and considerations for franchisees beyond the standard terms of the Dryer Vent Squad franchise agreement.
For a Dryer Vent Squad franchisee in Washington, this amendment ensures that their rights and the enforceability of the franchise agreement are subject to the protections and provisions outlined in the Washington Franchise Investment Protection Act. This includes potential impacts on termination, renewal, and other aspects of the franchise relationship, offering a degree of legal certainty and protection under Washington law.
