What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Dryer Vent Squad's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, 'Anti-Terrorism Laws' are defined as Executive Order 13224 issued by the President of the United States, the USA PATRIOT Act, and all other present and future federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, regulations, policies, lists and any other requirements of any governmental authority addressing, or in any way relating to, terrorist acts and acts of war.
For a Dryer Vent Squad franchisee, compliance with these laws is mandatory. Franchisees and their owners must certify that their property or interests are not subject to being "blocked" under any of these Anti-Terrorism Laws and that they are not in violation of any of these laws. Furthermore, franchisees and their owners must not be listed on the Annex to Executive Order 13244, hire anyone listed, or have dealings with anyone listed. Franchisees are obligated to immediately notify Dryer Vent Squad if they or any owner becomes listed.
Failure to comply with Anti-Terrorism Laws or becoming listed on the Annex to Executive Order 13244 can result in immediate termination of the Franchise Agreement by Dryer Vent Squad without prior notice. Franchisees are also required to notify Dryer Vent Squad in writing of any conflicts or discrepancies between their obligations under these laws and Dryer Vent Squad's standards or specifications. Dryer Vent Squad's determination or resolution in writing will be the deciding factor in resolving any conflict or ambiguity.
