What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Dryer Vent Squad Franchise Disclosure Document, a non-curable default that can lead to termination of the franchise agreement includes being dissolved. This means if the franchisee's business entity legally ceases to exist, Dryer Vent Squad can terminate the agreement without allowing an opportunity to correct the situation.
This provision protects Dryer Vent Squad by ensuring that there is a viable legal entity operating under its brand. Dissolution of the franchisee's business could indicate financial instability or other serious issues that could negatively impact the Dryer Vent Squad brand and system.
For a prospective franchisee, this highlights the importance of maintaining the legal standing of their business entity. Franchisees should ensure they understand the requirements for maintaining their business's legal existence and take steps to avoid dissolution, as it could result in the loss of their franchise. It is also important to note that this is only one of many potential non-curable defaults, and franchisees should carefully review the franchise agreement to understand all the conditions that could lead to termination without an opportunity to cure.
