We may designate ourselves and our affiliates as exclusive suppliers of source restricted goods and services. We may designate ourselves or a third party as exclusive supplier irrespective of the existence of competing suppliers.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Dryer Vent Squad's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Dryer Vent Squad may designate itself or its affiliates as the exclusive suppliers of certain goods and services. This means that as a franchisee, you might be required to purchase specific items only from Dryer Vent Squad or its affiliated companies. This applies to 'source restricted goods and services,' which are items that must meet Dryer Vent Squad's specifications or be purchased from an approved supplier.
This ability for Dryer Vent Squad to act as an exclusive supplier gives them control over the quality and consistency of products used within the franchise system. While this can help maintain brand standards, it also means franchisees may not have the option to shop around for better prices or alternative products. Dryer Vent Squad states that they may designate themselves or a third party as exclusive supplier irrespective of the existence of competing suppliers.
The FDD also indicates that currently neither Dryer Vent Squad nor its affiliates are approved suppliers of source restricted goods and services. However, Dryer Vent Squad reserves the right to implement exclusive provider arrangements and may negotiate group rates for equipment and supplies. Franchisees are required to purchase system supplies, as designated by Dryer Vent Squad, from Dryer Vent Squad, its affiliates, and/or its designated suppliers. Additionally, all branded items and marketing materials must be purchased directly from Dryer Vent Squad or its designated exclusive supplier.
If a franchisee wishes to use a different supplier, they must submit a written request for approval, which may include a supplier review and testing fee, samples for testing, and facility inspections. Dryer Vent Squad estimates that purchases from designated exclusive suppliers will represent approximately 75% of the initial investment and 40% of ongoing operating expenses. Franchisees are also required to use Dryer Vent Squad's designated supplier for credit card processing.
