What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Dq Treat FDD, as part of the franchise application, prospective franchisees must provide a restaurant management plan. This plan serves to clearly identify all individuals involved in the proposed franchise, outlining their qualifications, roles, and responsibilities.

The management plan requires details about the principals involved in the proposed Dq Treat business, including their professional backgrounds, the business qualities, skills, and experience that qualify them, and the responsibilities and duties each principal will have. The FDD specifies that a résumé or work history should be attached for each person listed in the plan.

In addition to the principals, the plan should detail the makeup of the proposed management team, including designated and assistant managers, their duties, and responsibilities, along with their résumés. The plan also needs to identify who within the management team will have equity interest in the business and who will attend the Dq Treat company training program. Furthermore, the plan requires disclosure of any other businesses the principals currently own, including the management team details for those businesses. If a principal currently owns a DQ or Orange Julius franchise, the plan should specify which members of their management team have successfully completed the company training program and when they attended the training.
