What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dq Treat's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Acumera, the service provider, may suspend service to a Dq Treat location if the location's account is 15 days or more overdue. However, Acumera must first provide the location with at least 10 days' prior written notice indicating that payment is overdue and specifying the date on which services will be suspended if payment is not received. This allows the franchisee a window to rectify the overdue payment before the service is actually suspended. Acumera will not be liable for suspending the service after providing the written notice.
Furthermore, Acumera has the right to require an activation fee to change or resume a suspended account. This means that in addition to paying the overdue amount, a Dq Treat franchisee may incur an extra cost to reinstate the service once it has been suspended. This policy is designed to ensure timely payments for services rendered and provides a clear procedure for handling overdue accounts.
It is important for prospective Dq Treat franchisees to understand these payment terms and ensure they have systems in place to manage payments promptly to avoid service disruptions and additional fees. Franchisees should also clarify with Dq Treat and Acumera what constitutes 'written notice' (e.g., email, mail) and how it will be delivered to ensure they can respond within the given timeframe.
