What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Dq Treat FDD, the franchisee must actively supervise the restaurant. At all times, a Dq Treat restaurant must have a Designated Manager present. If it is the franchisee's first Dq Treat location, they must also have an Assistant Manager. Both the Designated Manager and Assistant Manager must complete all training required by Dq Treat before starting their management duties.
Any new or replacement Designated Manager or Assistant Manager must also meet Dq Treat's current training requirements for managers. The franchisee is responsible for implementing a training program for all restaurant employees that complies with Dq Treat's requirements. The franchisee must also maintain a staff of trained employees sufficient to operate the restaurant according to Dq Treat's standards.
Prior to opening a Dq Treat restaurant, the franchisee must comply with all of Dq Treat's pre-opening training requirements within 6 months of opening. Failure to meet these requirements to Dq Treat's satisfaction will prevent the franchisee from opening or operating the restaurant. The franchisee and their employees must also meet Dq Treat's ongoing training requirements. If a franchisee defaults on the agreement by failing to meet operational standards, Dq Treat may require additional training at the franchisee's expense as a condition of curing the default.
