What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dq Treat's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, plans provided by ADQ are valid for six months from the date of issuance. If a Dq Treat franchisee needs to use the plans beyond this initial six-month period, they must obtain a written extension from ADQ to maintain their validity.
This expiration and extension requirement ensures that franchisees are using up-to-date plans that comply with current building codes and Dq Treat's brand standards. Building codes and brand requirements can change, so this policy protects both the franchisee and the franchisor.
For a prospective Dq Treat franchisee, this means that the timeline for construction and opening should be carefully planned. Delays in construction could lead to the plans expiring, requiring an extension and potentially additional costs if updates are needed to meet new regulations or brand standards. Franchisees should communicate proactively with ADQ about their construction timeline to avoid any lapse in plan validity.
