What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Dq Treat FDD, if an external cellular gateway is provided as part of the Acumera services installation, the franchisee is responsible for mounting the cellular gateway on the wall near the firewall. The cellular gateway must not be placed directly on top of the firewall or any other electronic equipment, as this can cause unreliable connectivity to the cellular network.

This requirement applies to both remote and on-site installations, as indicated by the 'Customer Requirements' sections for both installation types. For remote installations, the franchisee is responsible for the physical placement and mounting of the equipment. For on-site installations, while the technician will handle the physical mounting, the franchisee is responsible for ensuring the area is accessible and meets the necessary requirements.

It is important for a prospective Dq Treat franchisee to adhere to these guidelines to ensure proper functionality of the cellular backup service. Failure to properly mount the cellular gateway could result in unreliable connectivity, defeating the purpose of having a backup internet connection. The franchisee is also responsible for engaging their primary data circuit provider to repair any inoperable circuits and restore connectivity as quickly as possible, as the cellular backup is intended only as a temporary solution.
