According to Dq Treat's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, 'Device Software' is defined as the software residing on an approved credit card terminal or pin-pad that communicates with the PARPay Service. This software enables a Dq Treat franchisee's access to the PARPay Service, which is used for processing credit, debit, and gift card transactions.
The Device Software is integral to the PARPay system, allowing the physical payment devices to interact with the payment processing service. Dq Treat franchisees are granted a limited, non-transferable license to use this software on approved devices. This license is specifically for processing transactions related to the franchisee's Dq Treat business.
Dq Treat retains ownership of the Device Software, including all copies, audiovisual aspects, and intellectual property rights. Franchisees are prohibited from copying, modifying, reverse engineering, or transferring any rights to the Device Software.
