Restaurant Management Plan

As part of this franchise application package, you must provide your restaurant management plan. The purpose of the management plan is to identify clearly all individuals involved in the proposed franchise by outlining their qualifications, roles, and responsibilities. Please use the following series of questions as a guide to completing your plan.

    1. Who are the principals for this proposed business and what are their professional backgrounds?
    1. What business qualities, skills, and experience qualify each principal for this business?
    1. What responsibilities and duties will each of the described principals have with regard to this proposed business? Please attach a résumé/work history for each person.
    1. What is the makeup of your proposed management team (Designated and Assistant Managers)? Please identify each individual, and list their duties, and responsibilities. Please attach a résumé/work history for each person.
    1. Who within this management team will have equity interest in the proposed business?
    1. Who will attend the Company training program? Please refer to the appropriate franchise disclosure document (FDD) for the training requirements for each concept.
    1. What other businesses do you currently own? For each business, please indicate in detail the makeup of the management team for that business. Note: If you currently own a DQ or Orange Julius franchise, which of your management team has already successfully completed the applicable Company training program? When did they attend training?

What This Means (2025 FDD)

Based on the 2025 Dq Treat Franchise Disclosure Document, prospective franchisees are required to submit a restaurant management plan as part of their franchise application package. This plan serves to clearly identify all individuals involved in the proposed franchise, outlining their qualifications, roles, and responsibilities.

The management plan must address a series of questions, including the identities and professional backgrounds of the principals, their relevant skills and experience, and their specific duties within the business. Additionally, the plan should detail the makeup of the proposed management team, including designated and assistant managers, along with their respective duties and responsibilities. Résumés or work histories must be attached for each person identified in the plan.

The plan also requires disclosure of any equity interest held by members of the management team and identification of who will attend the Dq Treat company training program. Furthermore, franchisees must disclose any other businesses they currently own, providing details about the management team for each. Existing Dq Treat or Orange Julius franchisees should indicate which members of their management team have already completed the applicable company training program and when they attended.

Finally, the initial franchise fee must be included when submitting the application. The initial franchise fee for a Dq Treat store is $25,000. A non-refundable deposit of $10,000 is due when the franchise application is submitted, and the balance is due within 10 days after ADQ approves the application and issues a written consent letter.
