What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Dq Treat Franchise Disclosure Document, as part of the franchise application package, prospective franchisees must provide a restaurant management plan that includes contact information for all individuals involved in the proposed franchise. This plan requires identifying the principals of the business and their professional backgrounds.
Specifically, the plan must detail the business qualities, skills, and experience that qualify each principal. It also requires outlining the responsibilities and duties each principal will have within the business, along with a resume or work history for each person. The plan should also identify the makeup of the proposed management team, including designated and assistant managers, their duties, and responsibilities, again with attached resumes.
Furthermore, the plan needs to specify who within the management team will have equity interest in the business and who will attend the Dq Treat training program. Franchisees must also disclose any other businesses they currently own, including the management team makeup for those businesses. If the applicant currently owns a DQ or Orange Julius franchise, they must indicate which members of their management team have successfully completed the applicable Company training program and when they attended the training. The FDD also includes a listing of current franchisees with their store addresses and phone numbers.
