American Dairy Queen Corporation ("Company") would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your application for a new franchise. It is important to remember that this is an APPLICATION ONLY which must be reviewed and approved through Company's Development Review Committee (DRC) before any franchise rights are awarded to you. The DRC review includes the following:
Applicant Qualification
Company review of the franchise application, including applicants' personal and financial background, proposed ownership structure and management structure, and discovery day at Company's Franchisee Support Center in Minneapolis, MN or other in-person meetings.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Dq Treat Franchise Disclosure Document, after submitting your franchise application, Dq Treat's Development Review Committee (DRC) will review it. The DRC's review includes an assessment of the applicant's personal and financial background, the proposed ownership and management structure, and a discovery day or in-person meetings at Dq Treat's Franchisee Support Center. Once Dq Treat approves the application, they will issue a written consent letter. The balance of the initial franchise fee is due within 10 days after the approval and issuance of this consent letter.
Prior to Dq Treat granting consent, you must secure feasibility information to assess design and governmental approval requirements. The accuracy of this information is critical, as it directly impacts the project's opening timeline. Dq Treat is not obligated to adjust timelines if you cannot secure the necessary approvals in a timely manner.
If applying for a Dq Grill & Chill franchise and your application is approved, you may be eligible for the Timeline Incentive Program, which incentivizes opening the restaurant within the planned timeline. However, Dq Treat has no obligation to assist with financing and will not adjust timelines based on your inability to secure appropriate financing. It is your responsibility to identify and secure a lender to manage the project within the opening timeline requirements stated in the consent letter.
