What does ADQ periodically identify for use in Dq Treat locations?

According to Dq Treat's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, ADQ periodically identifies approved products for use in DQ® locations. These products must meet ADQ's specifications and are manufactured, provided, or prepared by ADQ approved manufacturers, suppliers, or distributors. ADQ also has the right to periodically change the list of approved products and to update and alter the specifications for approved products. This ensures that all Dq Treat locations maintain a consistent quality and standard in their offerings.

For a prospective franchisee, this means that you are required to purchase and use only products that have been approved by ADQ. This includes a wide range of items, such as ingredients, supplies, signage, fixtures, furnishings, advertising and sales promotion materials, and equipment, including hardware and software for computerized electronic point-of-sale systems. While this might limit your choice of suppliers, it ensures that all Dq Treat locations adhere to the same quality standards, which is crucial for maintaining brand consistency and customer trust.

ADQ also has the right to designate a single approved manufacturer, supplier, or distributor for specific products, including soft drinks, third-party branded products, products related to limited-time offers and special promotions, equipment (including EPOS equipment), and Orange Julius® proprietary powders and frozen orange juice concentrate. For other products, franchisees may request approval of a specific product, service, or piece of equipment from an additional, qualified manufacturer, supplier, or alternate distributor, following ADQ's policies and procedures. This provides some flexibility while still maintaining control over product quality and consistency within the Dq Treat system.
