What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dolce Hotels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to pay for 'Additional Services' as applicable, in addition to other fees outlined in Attachment 4.1 of Schedule for Products and/or Services, including MOP (My Online Presence) Products and/or Services. This requirement is detailed within the context of fees and payments associated with Oracle Products and/or Services, as specified in the Master Information Technology Agreement.
While the FDD mentions that franchisees will need to pay for additional services, it does not specifically define or list what these 'Additional Services' entail. The document refers to Attachment 4.1 of the Schedule for the Products and/or Services for fee amounts, suggesting that these services are related to the technology and support systems provided by Dolce Hotels and Oracle. These services are connected to the Master Information Technology Agreement.
Given the lack of a clear definition, prospective Dolce Hotels franchisees should seek clarification from the franchisor regarding what constitutes 'Additional Services'. Understanding the nature and cost of these services is crucial for accurately forecasting expenses and assessing the overall financial viability of the franchise. Franchisees should inquire about a detailed list of potential additional services, the criteria for their applicability, and the methods used to calculate the associated fees. This information will help franchisees avoid unexpected costs and manage their budget effectively.
In the broader context of franchising, it is common for franchisors to offer a range of optional or mandatory additional services beyond the core franchise package. These services can include specialized training, marketing support, technology upgrades, or consulting services. However, transparency regarding the nature and cost of these services is essential for maintaining a healthy franchisor-franchisee relationship and ensuring that franchisees can make informed decisions about their investment.
