What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, you must use a licensed architect approved by Dog Haus to prepare plans for your franchised restaurant. Dog Haus recommends that you use their architect. However, if you choose to use a different architect, they must be licensed and approved by Dog Haus.
If you opt to use an architect other than the one recommended by Dog Haus, you will incur a $1,500 plan review fee. This fee is paid directly to Dog Haus's architect for reviewing the plans submitted by your chosen architect. The estimated initial investment for pre-construction costs, which includes expenses for the architect, project manager, plans, and permits, ranges from $45,000 to $85,000. These costs are paid as incurred to Dog Haus-approved suppliers. Therefore, while you have the option to choose your own architect, the final decision rests with Dog Haus, and using an unapproved architect is not permitted.
