What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the obligations of the franchisee are detailed to protect the Dog Haus system, marks, trade secrets, and associated goodwill. Specifically, the franchisee must operate the Dog Haus Restaurant in compliance with the Franchise Agreement and the Manuals. The franchisee has day-to-day control over the restaurant's operations and employees.

The franchisee must adhere to Dog Haus's standards and specifications, implementing changes as directed by Dog Haus within specified timeframes. Deviation from these standards requires prior written consent from Dog Haus. These obligations ensure consistency and quality across all Dog Haus locations, which is typical in franchising.

These obligations continue even after the agreement expires or terminates. This includes ceasing the use of Dog Haus's trade secrets, confidential information, and marks, as well as making cosmetic changes to the restaurant to remove Dog Haus's proprietary designs and identifying materials. The franchisee is also responsible for returning the Manuals and written materials containing Dog Haus's trade secrets. This is a standard practice in franchising to protect the brand's intellectual property and maintain uniformity.
