What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the deadline for opening a Dog Haus restaurant can be extended if the failure to comply with the development schedule results from an event of Force Majeure. In such cases, Dog Haus may extend the deadline as provided in Section 2.7 of the agreement.
Force Majeure typically refers to unforeseeable circumstances that prevent someone from fulfilling a contract. Common examples include natural disasters, war, or government regulations. If a Dog Haus franchisee faces such an event that prevents them from opening their restaurant on time, they may be granted an extension.
It is important for prospective Dog Haus franchisees to understand what constitutes a Force Majeure event as defined in their agreement. They should also clarify the process for requesting an extension due to such an event and what documentation or proof may be required. Understanding these details can help franchisees navigate unforeseen challenges and maintain a good standing with Dog Haus.
