Is there a cost to Dog Haus for a franchisee to provide Dog Haus data?

All data pertaining to your Franchised Restaurant and all data you create or collect in connection with your operation of the Franchised Restaurant, including, data pertaining to, or otherwise concerning, the Franchised Restaurant's customers, or that you otherwise collect including data uploaded to, or downloaded from your computer system, or data uploaded, downloaded, or created using any artificial intelligence program is Dog Haus data and is our sole property. We have the right to review and use the Dog Haus data in any manner that we deem appropriate without any compensation to you. You just provide us with copies and/or originals of the Dog Haus data within 5 days after our request for the Dog Haus data at no cost to us and at any time during the term of your Franchise Agreement and upon the expiration and/or termination of your Franchise Agreement.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must provide Dog Haus with copies or originals of all data pertaining to their franchised restaurant. This includes customer data and any other data collected in connection with the restaurant's operation, including data uploaded or downloaded from computer systems or created using AI.
Dog Haus requires franchisees to provide this data within five days of the franchisor's request. Importantly, this data must be provided at no cost to Dog Haus. This obligation exists throughout the term of the Franchise Agreement and even upon its expiration or termination.
This means a franchisee will not be compensated for the time, resources, or potential value of the data they collect and provide to Dog Haus. The franchisor retains the right to review and use this data in any manner they deem appropriate without compensating the franchisee.
