What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Dog Haus expressly reserves the right to market on the Internet and use the Dog Haus Marks on the Internet. This includes all use of websites, domain names, URLs, directory addresses, email addresses, metatags, linking, marketing, co-branding and other arrangements, and in all other forms of electronic media.
This means that Dog Haus retains full control over its online presence and branding. A franchisee cannot prevent Dog Haus from marketing online, even within the franchisee's protected territory. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as franchisors typically need to maintain a consistent brand image and marketing strategy across all locations, which is often best managed centrally.
For a prospective franchisee, this implies that while they may have some local marketing responsibilities, the overall online marketing strategy and execution are handled by Dog Haus. Franchisees should ensure they understand how Dog Haus's online marketing efforts will support their local business and how they can integrate their local marketing with the national strategy. It is important to note that the FDD states that Dog Haus is not required to pay the franchisee any compensation if they exercise any of these rights.
