Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Except for any other franchise program that we may develop in the future, neither we nor any parent or affiliate has established, or presently intends to establish, other franchised or company-owned facilities which provide similar products or services under a different trade name or trademark, but we reserve the right to do so in the future, without first obtaining your consent.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Dog Haus retains the right to establish other franchised or company-owned facilities that offer similar products or services under a different trade name or trademark in the future. This means that even though a franchisee invests in a Dog Haus franchise, the company could potentially introduce a competing brand or concept, without needing the franchisee's consent.

This reservation of rights has significant implications for prospective franchisees. While Dog Haus states they do not currently intend to establish such competing businesses, the possibility remains open. This could lead to direct competition between a franchisee's Dog Haus location and a new brand launched by the same parent company. The new brand might even be positioned to appeal to a similar customer base, potentially drawing customers away from existing Dog Haus franchises.

It is important for potential franchisees to understand that this is not uncommon in the franchise industry. Many franchisors reserve the right to diversify their offerings or test new concepts. However, the potential for direct competition from a sister brand should be carefully considered. Prospective franchisees should inquire about Dog Haus's long-term strategy and any plans to develop or acquire other brands in the food service sector. Understanding these plans can help a franchisee assess the potential risk and make an informed decision about investing in a Dog Haus franchise.

Ultimately, while Dog Haus grants certain territorial protections, these protections do not extend to preventing the franchisor itself from launching a competing brand. Franchisees need to be aware of this possibility and factor it into their investment decision.
