What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Dog Haus has the authority to require a franchisee to discontinue food delivery services. This is outlined in Section 7.37, which discusses Food Delivery Services. This clause also states that franchisees must adhere to Dog Haus's delivery policies and procedures, which are detailed in the manuals and subject to change during the term of the agreement. These policies may require franchisees to offer delivery services, use specific third-party food delivery services, and restrict the areas where delivery services are offered.
This means that as a Dog Haus franchisee, you may be obligated to provide delivery services, potentially using only the food delivery services Dog Haus has a national contract with. You might not be allowed to contract with other delivery platforms without Dog Haus's written approval. Furthermore, Dog Haus's policies could allow other Dog Haus restaurants to deliver within your protected area, and you might be allowed to deliver outside of it.
This provision gives Dog Haus significant control over the delivery aspect of the business. It is important for prospective franchisees to understand that Dog Haus can change these policies and procedures, potentially impacting how they conduct their delivery services. It is advisable to discuss with Dog Haus the specific criteria and circumstances under which they might require a franchisee to discontinue delivery services to fully understand the potential implications.
