What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, any insurance policies obtained by a franchisee must be written by insurers licensed and admitted to write coverage in the jurisdiction where the franchised restaurant is located. These insurers must have a rating of "A" or better, as defined in the most recent edition of Best's Key Rating Guide.

This requirement ensures that Dog Haus franchisees obtain insurance coverage from reputable and financially stable providers. The "A" rating from Best's Key Rating Guide indicates that the insurer has a strong ability to meet its ongoing obligations to policyholders. This protects both the franchisee and Dog Haus from potential financial losses due to underfunded or unreliable insurance coverage.

In addition to the minimum rating, the insurance policies must also name Dog Haus as an additional insured and comply with any other requirements prescribed by Dog Haus at the time the policies are obtained. Franchisees must also ensure that their insurers agree to waive their rights of subrogation against Dog Haus. These stipulations provide further protection for Dog Haus and ensure that the insurance coverage aligns with the franchisor's standards and risk management practices.
