What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Pre-Opening Initial Training Program can be provided virtually. Dog Haus will provide the Pre-Opening Initial Training Program at its corporate office, other Dog Haus Restaurants, or locations they designate, and through a virtual communication platform. Dog Haus may also provide any or all portions of the Pre-Opening Initial Training Program remotely over a virtual communication platform.
The Pre-Opening Initial Training Program consists of approximately 2 weeks of virtual training that must be completed before the Franchised Restaurant opens. After completing the virtual training, participants will engage in 8 to 13 days of in-person training at a Dog Haus Restaurant in Los Angeles, California, or another designated location. This hybrid approach, combining virtual and in-person training, is fairly common in the franchise industry, allowing for flexibility while ensuring hands-on experience.
For a new Dog Haus franchisee, the initial training is provided at no charge, although they may need to reimburse Dog Haus for up to 2 round trip flights, 2 hotel rooms, 2 rental vehicles, and a per diem of $60 for each employee providing training. The franchisee is responsible for covering all travel, living, compensation, and other expenses for their Principal Owner, General Manager, and other personnel attending the training. It is important to note that Dog Haus will not provide the Pre-Opening Initial Training Program if the franchisee or their affiliates own another Dog Haus Restaurant, or if the Franchise Agreement is a renewal.
