What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Pre-Opening Initial Training Program can be provided remotely. Dog Haus may provide any or all portions of the Pre-Opening Initial Training Program remotely over a virtual communication platform that they designate. This applies to the initial training, pre-opening on-site opening assistance, and post-opening consultations.
The initial training program consists of approximately 2 weeks of virtual training, which must be completed before the Dog Haus restaurant opens. After the virtual training is complete, the franchisee will participate in 8 to 13 days of in-person training at a Dog Haus Restaurant in Los Angeles, California, or another designated location. The FDD states that Dog Haus will provide the Pre-Opening Initial Training Program at their corporate office, another Dog Haus Restaurant, a location they designate, or through a virtual communication platform for the Principal Owner, General Manager, or other supervisorial or managerial personnel.
For the first Dog Haus restaurant, Dog Haus will provide on-site training and assistance for up to 10 days, both before and after the restaurant opens. They will also provide on-site assistance for up to 3 days during the grand opening, which should occur 2-4 weeks after the restaurant's opening. However, Dog Haus will not provide on-site assistance for subsequent franchises or renewal agreements. The franchisee is responsible for covering transportation, food, lodging, and related costs for Dog Haus employees during on-site opening assistance, including expenses for up to 2 round trip flights, 2 hotel rooms, 2 rental vehicles, and a $60 per diem for each employee providing training.
