What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Dog Haus does not provide material benefits to franchisees, such as renewal or granting additional franchises, based upon their purchase of particular products or services or use of particular suppliers.
The FDD does state that Dog Haus may receive rebates from approved suppliers based on the aggregate volume of items purchased by franchisees. Franchisees are not entitled to any portion of these rebates. For example, Dog Haus received a flat fee rebate of $2,000 per Restaurant (except for Remote Kitchens) upon opening of that Restaurant through an agreement with one of their approved beverage suppliers. During the fiscal year ended December 31, 2024, Dog Haus received a total of $2,400 in rebates from the California Avocado Association and $1,000 in rebates from McCain Foods, all of which were contributed to the Marketing, Creative & Technology Fund.
Prospective franchisees should note that approximately 70-75% of start-up expenses and 70-80% of ongoing expenses will be for purchases from Dog Haus Approved Suppliers or purchases according to their specifications. This highlights the importance of understanding the approved supplier network and associated costs, as these purchases constitute a significant portion of both initial and ongoing investments. Franchisees are required to purchase Dog Haus Proprietary Products only from Dog Haus, its affiliates, or Dog Haus Approved Suppliers. This requirement ensures consistency and quality but also limits the franchisee's ability to seek alternative suppliers for these specific products.
