What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Dog Haus Biergarten must have a minimum number of seats at the bar and on the patio. Specifically, the Biergarten is required to have a minimum of 8 seats at the bar to accommodate customers. Additionally, the outdoor patio area must include a minimum of 24 seats for patrons.
These seating requirements are part of a larger set of criteria that define a Dog Haus Biergarten, distinguishing it from the smaller Dog Haus Fast Casual Restaurant model. The Biergarten concept aims to provide a more comprehensive dining and social experience, which includes a wider selection of beers and wines on tap, televisions for entertainment, and extended operating hours. The seating minimums contribute to the intended atmosphere and capacity of the Biergarten.
For a prospective franchisee, these requirements mean that the physical space and layout of the location must be carefully planned to meet these minimum seating numbers. This will influence the overall size of the premises needed, as the FDD notes that a Dog Haus Biergarten is approximately 1,800 to 3,000 square feet. Failing to meet these minimum seating requirements could put a franchisee in breach of the franchise agreement, as these are part of the brand standards for a Biergarten location.
