What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Dog Haus Biergarten is required to have a minimum of 24 beers on tap and a selection of wines on tap. The Dog Haus Biergarten will be in a leased space of approximately 1,800 to 3,000 square feet. The Biergarten must also have a minimum of 8 seats at the bar, at least one bartender on duty at all times, and a minimum of 10 televisions.
Prospective franchisees should note that Dog Haus Biergartens differ from Dog Haus Fast Casual Restaurants in several ways, including the tap requirements. Dog Haus Fast Casual Restaurants have a limited selection of beer and wine available for purchase, but the specific number of taps is not specified in the document.
Dog Haus may, at its discretion, allow a franchisee to only serve beer and wine at the Dog Haus Biergarten. However, Dog Haus Biergartens must serve beer, wine, and liquor. Franchisees are required to use their best efforts to obtain a beer and wine license, and if they are a Dog Haus Biergarten franchisee, they are required to use their best efforts to obtain a license to sell liquor as well as beer and wine at their Franchise Restaurant. Franchisees must comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations in their state and locality related to the sale of alcoholic beverages at their Franchised Restaurant.
It is important for prospective franchisees to understand these requirements and ensure they can meet the financial and operational demands of running a Dog Haus Biergarten, including securing the necessary licenses and managing the inventory and service of a wide selection of beers and wines.
