Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Franchisee shall submit to Franchisor all demographic and other information regarding a proposed site and neighboring areas that Franchisor shall require in the form prescribed by Franchisor.

Franchisor shall accept or reject a proposed site for the Franchised Restaurant within thirty (30) days (or fifteen (15) days after Franchisee provides Franchisor all supplemental information that Franchisor requires to evaluate the site).

Following Franchisor's approval of a site, Franchisee shall promptly negotiate a Lease for the site and shall submit a copy of the proposed Lease to Franchisor to allow Franchisor at least fifteen (15) days to confirm that (i) the provisions set forth in Section 5.2 have been included in the proposed Lease, and/or (ii) the Landlord and Franchisee have executed an Option to Obtain Lease Assignment in the form specified by Franchisor.

Franchisee shall not enter into any Lease for a site unless and until Franchisor has approved the site and the Lease in writing.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, once a franchisee submits all required information about a proposed site, the franchisor has 30 days to either accept or reject the site. However, this period can be shortened to 15 days if the franchisee provides all supplemental information requested by Dog Haus to evaluate the site.

This means a prospective Dog Haus franchisee needs to gather and submit all the necessary demographic and site information promptly to the franchisor. Understanding the franchisor's site criteria, as provided in the Franchise Agreement, is crucial for selecting suitable locations.

The franchisee cannot enter into any lease agreement until Dog Haus approves both the site and the lease in writing. This protects both parties by ensuring the location meets the brand's standards and the lease terms are acceptable. Franchisees must also ensure the lease includes specific provisions outlined in Section 5.2 of the Franchise Agreement and that an Option to Obtain Lease Assignment is executed in the form specified by Dog Haus.
