What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial term of the Area Development Agreement is 5 years. However, the term may end earlier if the franchisee signs the Franchise Agreement for the last Franchised Restaurant needed to fulfill their development obligations before the 5-year mark.
Dog Haus also offers an option to extend the Area Development Agreement. If the Area Developer meets their development obligations and wants to develop, open, and operate more Franchised Restaurants in the Development Area, they can extend the agreement for another 5 years.
To extend the Area Development Agreement with Dog Haus, the Area Developer must meet several requirements. They must notify Dog Haus of their intent to renew at least 180 days before the current agreement expires. They also need to sign the then-current Area Development Agreement, which will include any additional development obligations for the renewal term. Furthermore, the developer must sign a general release, fulfill all obligations under the existing Area Development Agreement, prove they have the financial ability to complete the renewal development obligations, and pay the renewal fee. Dog Haus may also require the developer to sign a Franchise Agreement with terms and conditions that are significantly different from previous agreements.
