What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, when an Area Developer identifies a potential site for a Dog Haus Restaurant, they must submit all demographic and other information regarding the proposed site and neighboring areas that Dog Haus requires. This information must be submitted in the form prescribed by Dog Haus, and the Area Developer must request that Dog Haus consider and approve the site.

This requirement ensures that Dog Haus maintains control over site selection, which is crucial for brand consistency and success. By requiring specific demographic and other information, Dog Haus can assess whether the proposed location aligns with its target market and business strategy. The Area Developer bears the responsibility of identifying and securing suitable locations, but Dog Haus retains the right to approve or reject these sites based on the submitted information.

For a prospective Dog Haus Area Developer, this means being prepared to conduct thorough market research and gather detailed information about potential locations. They should also be ready to present this information in a format that meets Dog Haus's specifications. Understanding the criteria Dog Haus uses to evaluate sites is essential for Area Developers to focus their efforts on locations that are likely to be approved. It is also the Area Developer's responsibility to review and approve each Lease or purchase agreement for each Dog Haus Restaurant to be developed under the agreement, and each Lease must comply with the requirements set forth in Sections 5.1 and 5.2 of Dog Haus's current Franchise Agreement.

This process highlights the collaborative nature of the franchise relationship, where the Area Developer's local expertise is combined with Dog Haus's brand standards and strategic oversight. While the Area Developer is responsible for finding and securing locations, Dog Haus's approval process ensures that each new restaurant has the best possible chance of success.
