For a Dog Haus franchise, is written approval required from the franchisor before installing any merchandise, furnishings, interior or exterior décor items, supplies, fixtures, equipment or utensils in the Franchised Restaurant?
Dog_Haus Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
You must purchase and install, at your expense, all fixtures, furnishings, equipment (including a point-of-sale cash collection system), décor, and signs as we direct. You may not install on or about your Franchised Restaurant any merchandise, furnishings, interior or exterior décor items, supplies, fixtures, equipment or utensils unless they have been approved by us in writing. You must purchase these items from a Dog Haus Approved Supplier.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must obtain written approval from Dog Haus before installing any merchandise, furnishings, interior or exterior décor items, supplies, fixtures, equipment, or utensils in their franchised restaurant. Franchisees are also required to purchase and install all fixtures, furnishings, equipment, décor, and signs as directed by Dog Haus, and these items must be purchased from a Dog Haus Approved Supplier.
This requirement ensures that all Dog Haus locations maintain a consistent brand image and meet the franchisor's standards. It also allows Dog Haus to control the quality and appearance of the restaurants, which can impact customer perception and overall brand reputation.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that they will have limited flexibility in choosing their own suppliers or décor. They must adhere to the approved vendors and design guidelines set by Dog Haus. While this may restrict some autonomy, it also provides a streamlined process for setting up the restaurant and ensures compliance with brand standards. Franchisees should carefully review the list of approved suppliers and understand the associated costs to factor them into their budget.
