What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor has the right to disapprove any modification or addition to the Dog Haus System suggested by a franchisee if it believes the change is reasonably likely to have an adverse material effect on the Dog Haus System, the Dog Haus Marks, or the franchisor's reputation or goodwill. This is to ensure the consistency and quality of the Dog Haus brand and operating standards across all franchise locations.

This provision gives Dog Haus significant control over any changes a franchisee might want to implement. It means that even if a franchisee believes a modification could improve their specific location, Dog Haus can reject it if they believe it could negatively impact the overall brand. The franchisor's decision is based on protecting the integrity of the Dog Haus System and brand reputation.

For a prospective franchisee, this highlights the importance of adhering to the established Dog Haus System. While franchisees may have ideas for improvements, they must understand that the franchisor has the final say on any modifications. This underscores the need for open communication with the franchisor and a clear understanding of the brand standards before suggesting any changes. Franchisees should be prepared to justify any proposed modifications with evidence that they will not harm the Dog Haus brand or system.
