What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dog Haus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, while Dog Haus may offer recommendations, franchisees are ultimately responsible for establishing certain operational requirements, provided they align with Dog Haus's policies. These areas of responsibility include employment policies, which encompass hiring, firing, training, wage and hour requirements, record keeping, supervision, and employee discipline. Franchisees also determine the individuals to whom they will offer and sell their products and services.
Furthermore, franchisees have the autonomy to select suppliers for products or services used in the restaurant, but only for items for which Dog Haus has not already established approved suppliers. This means franchisees can source certain goods independently, offering some flexibility in their operations. However, this independence is conditional, as it only applies to products and services not already covered by Dog Haus's established supplier network.
This division of responsibilities means that while Dog Haus sets the overall standards and policies, franchisees have significant control over day-to-day operations and specific aspects of their business. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider these responsibilities and ensure they have the resources and expertise to manage these areas effectively while adhering to Dog Haus's guidelines.
