What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Devon Creek's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, in-territory remedial training may be provided under two circumstances. First, Devon Creek may provide this training upon the franchisee's reasonable request. Second, Devon Creek may deem it appropriate to offer the training. This training is subject to the availability of Devon Creek personnel.
The remedial training initially consists of phone or screen-share assistance provided by additional trained representatives. If on-site training and assistance within the territory is required, the franchisee is responsible for paying a per diem fee for the services of the trained representatives, as well as covering their costs of travel, lodging, and meals.
This means that while Devon Creek offers support to help franchisees improve their operations, franchisees should be prepared to cover the expenses associated with on-site, in-territory training. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, where franchisors provide initial training and ongoing support, but franchisees often bear the costs for additional or specialized training.
