What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Devon Creek's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for reimbursing the costs associated with in-territory training. Specifically, if the franchisee requests or Devon Creek determines that remedial in-territory training and assistance is appropriate, the franchisee must cover all costs for the services of Devon Creek's trainer.

These reimbursable costs include the trainer's per diem fee at the time of training and all travel-related expenses. Travel-related expenses encompass transportation, meals, and lodging for the trainer. This means that in addition to paying for the trainer's time, the franchisee will also be responsible for covering the trainer's travel and living expenses while they are providing training within the franchisee's territory.

This requirement could represent a significant expense for the franchisee, especially if the territory is far from the trainer's base of operations or if the training requires an extended period. Prospective franchisees should factor these potential costs into their financial projections and discuss with Devon Creek the circumstances under which in-territory training might be necessary and how these costs are typically managed.
