What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Devon Creek's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to attend a pre-opening training program that lasts four weeks. This training is provided for the franchisee and one additional person. Devon Creek also provides on-site training for a minimum of 40 hours when the franchisee commences business operations. Devon Creek determines if the franchisee satisfactorily completes the initial training.
The training program includes videos, reference books, worksheets, forms, and the Devon Creek Operations Manual. Franchisees will receive both classroom instruction and hands-on training. Franchisees cannot begin operations until Devon Creek determines that they have successfully completed the Initial Management Training Program.
The cost of the instructors, training materials, and up to two days of on-site training are included in the initial franchise fee. However, franchisees are responsible for all travel and personal expenses, including transportation and most meals, for themselves and their personnel. Additional or replacement trainees will incur a fee of $400 per person per day per trainer.
Failure to complete the Initial Management Training Program to Devon Creek's satisfaction can result in the termination of the Franchise Agreement. Devon Creek also offers additional training programs periodically, which franchisees may be required to attend, along with annual business meetings or franchisee conferences, for up to ten days each year. Franchisees are responsible for all costs associated with these additional training programs, including tuition, transportation, lodging, and meals.
